How the framework works
This partial denture has a metal framework that carries the replacement teeth and the gum-coloured base. The framework is supported by some of your remaining teeth and gums, which keep the denture steady when you eat. Your plan should show which teeth are involved and whether any of them need preparing first.
Attachments and the CC plate
Attachments are a way of connecting parts of the denture to your teeth or other restorations. They can mean more work on those teeth, and they include small parts that wear and need servicing. We also offer an option called a CC plate. For both, Dr. Samreen will confirm the exact material and design and write it on your plan.
Checks and fittings
Dr. Samreen checks the health and position of the teeth that will support the denture, and your bite. Impressions guide the lab in making the framework and then setting the teeth. We may try the framework in on its own before the denture is finished. Once made, it should slide in along its set path. Forcing it or bending parts yourself can damage the denture or your teeth.
Looking after it
Clean carefully around the supporting teeth and attachments as we show you. Tell us if it feels loose, an attachment seems worn or something rubs. Ask about replacement parts, repairs and what happens if you lose a supporting tooth later. These ongoing costs matter as much as the first price when you compare options.
BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT
Questions about metal-supported partial dentures and attachments
Does CC stand for a particular metal?
We won’t assume. Dr. Samreen will confirm the exact material and design for your case and write it on your plan.
Do attachments need maintenance?
Yes. Parts can wear and may need adjusting or replacing. Ask which follow-up visits and parts are included.
This is general information. What’s right for your tooth depends on what Dr. Samreen finds when she examines it.
