How to Choose the Best Dentist in Bahawalpur
There’s no single “best dentist” for everyone. The right one is qualified, explains things so you understand them, and is close enough that you’ll actually go back for follow-ups. A star rating helps, but it won’t tell you whether a treatment plan is right for your teeth. Here’s what we’d check if we were in your place.
Find out who will actually treat you
Ask for the dentist’s full name, then look them up on the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) website. If someone calls themselves a specialist, such as an orthodontist or an oral surgeon, ask which specialist qualification they hold. A certificate from a short course is useful training, but it isn’t the same thing as specialist registration.
You should get an explanation, not a sales pitch
A good first visit gives you time to say what’s wrong and ask questions. The dentist should tell you what they found, whether you need an X-ray, and what happens if you wait. If you walk out not understanding what’s being proposed or why, that’s a sign to ask again or get a second opinion.
Ask about hygiene
Ask how instruments are cleaned and sterilised between patients and how the chair is cleaned after each person. A clinic that takes this seriously will answer straight away. Nice interiors and photos on Instagram don’t tell you anything about sterilisation.
Get the full cost before you start
Ask which teeth need work, what each step involves, what the other options are and how many visits it will take. Check whether the quote includes X-rays, lab work, the final crown or filling, and follow-up visits. Keep a copy, written or a photo on your phone, so you can compare two clinics fairly.
If you’d prefer a female dentist
When you book, ask who will see you, and whether the same dentist will do the rest of your treatment. It’s completely reasonable to ask about privacy, or to bring your mother, sister or husband along. Nobody at a good clinic will think twice about it.
Think about the journey back
Most treatments need more than one visit, and you may need to come back quickly if something hurts afterwards. Pick somewhere you can reach easily. Dental Stories is in Anwar Colony, near Darbar Pully. If you’re coming for the first time, call and we’ll tell you how to find us.
Read reviews, but read them properly
Skip the one-word reviews and look for detail: did the dentist explain things, answer questions, check up afterwards? You can read what our patients have written on Google, and then bring your own questions to the appointment.
Thinking about Dental Stories?

- What is included in the estimate and who handles follow-up?
